As announced this summer, Rutherford County Schools has launched two new technology tools that will simplify how parents receive information and how they interact with their teachers and coaches to learn about their student’s academics, school announcements, and extra-curricular activities.
The first one is ParentVue by Synergy, and this will be used to see your student’s academic information, including report cards, daily grades, missing assignments, class schedules, etc. It is similar to Skyward that we used last year, but it is much more mobile and user friendly. The companion is called StudentVue and contain similar information for students.
The second app, and perhaps the most important, is MyRCS. Search for “Rutherford County Schools” in your app store, and download it for free.
The MyRCS app will be used by parents to receive messages and interact with your school, teachers, coaches, or band directors depending on the activities students are involved in. This is the sole communication platform we are using for this type of communication this year. It replaces platforms such as ClassDojo, Remind, Band or any others as parents have asked for a one-stop source for school information.
Once downloaded, you can select which schools your children attend to receive a live feed of news items from those schools. By adjusting your preferences, written messages families receive are translated automatically into your preferred language. You can also get interact directly teachers and coaches using a featured called “Rooms,” which is a secure two-way communication tool.
Rooms launches Monday and Parents will receive an email or text message inviting them to join their teacher’s or coach’s Room. If you don’t get the email or text, that’s ok. Beginning Monday evening you can visit the Rooms section of the app, or use the login button on your school’s website.
For your login, all you need to enter is the cell phone number you have on file with your school or your email address. You should then receive an access code, and you will be logged in.

Help our kindergartners learn their colors by wearing a specific color each day of the week.
Car Rider Procedure
1. Use the entrance on Todd Lane
2. We ask that you stay in your vehicle and do not park
3. Be mindful of vehicles around you and maintain the 15 MPH school zone speed limit
4. There are two lanes. If you need to turn left onto Mason Tucker you will need to be in the left lane, If you need to turn right onto Mason Tucker, you will need to be in the right lane.
5. Be sure to move all the way down the lane before stopping.

Kindergarten parent meeting
We are slowly moving to Apptegy only for communication. We will be sending our messages soon about upcoming events and happenings at DYE.
August 7 is our 2 hour orientation day. 7:30-9:30. Parents can start entering at 7:30. We will close the doors at 9:30.
August 10 is the first full day for the 1st -5th grade.
August 18 is Title 1 /open house for grades 1, 3, 5 only from 5-6 pm. We will start in the gym and then move to the classrooms.
August 20 is Title 1 /open house for grades K, 2, 4 only from 5-6 pm. We will start in the gym and then move to the classrooms.
Synergy is where you need to register your students (new and returning). Please use the website and not the app to register.
We are excited to see everyone soon!!
We are so excited to see our parents and students on Friday. Doors will open at 7:30 for parents to enter. Buses will run on time. No breakfast or lunch will be served. We will close the doors at 9:30.

We’re also introducing a new, unified communications platform—so everything from schools, teachers and programs will come through one place. That means we’re moving away from apps like Remind, Band and GroupMe to simplify communication for families.
